ENHANCEMENT

Seamless access to the Teams Listing

The Teams listing page now loads 100 sites at a time based on your selected sorting and filters. To view additional sites, simply scroll to load the next 100. This enhancement improves performance and enables you to quickly locate and access the team you need, especially when managing a large number of sites.


📝 Note:

The delete, enable, and disable operations apply only to the Teams loaded on the page.

ENHANCEMENT

Enhanced Data Security: User-Level Download Controls

User-level downloads for SaaS applications in the User Portal can now be globally restricted. This feature covers all formats, including Archive and MDS. When enabled, the download option will be disabled for users, thereby enhancing data security and ensuring compliance.


📝Note:

This feature requires both Endpoint license and either Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license. Customers with only an Endpoint license cannot access this functionality. For more information, see Download data using the inSync Web.

An updated v2.0.7 for eDiscovery Download Client is now available with minor enhancements.

Administrator Management with AD/LDAP
The Administrator management using AD/LDAP is now generally available (GA).
With this functionality, the integration with AD/LDAP Connectors and AD Accounts is centralized to manage Druva administrators efficiently by the DCP administrators.
The Administrator management feature uses your existing Active Directory (AD) or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration and simplifies managing Druva administrators within the Druva Cloud Platform (DCP).

Benefits:

  • Simplified Administrator Management: Organizations using AD/LDAP for user management can now effortlessly manage Druva administrators as well.

  • Improved Efficiency: Leverage your existing AD/LDAP integration for centralized administration of Druva users and administrators.

What's New?

  • New AD/LDAP Connector: A new version of the AD/LDAP Connector is included to support Administrator Management functionality.
    Updated Settings Location: Previously, AD/LDAP Connector and Account settings resided in the "End Points and SaaS Apps Settings" page. These settings have been relocated to the "Druva Cloud Settings" section within the DCP console.

  • Upgraded Administrator Permissions: Upgrading of AD/LDAP Connectors is now an exclusive privilege of Druva Cloud Administrators.

Action Required: Upgrade all existing AD/LDAP Connectors to the new version. This upgrade is necessary to grant the required permissions to inSync & DCP administrators to modify mappings and configurations.


❗ Important
Existing AD mappings created for user management will continue to function. However, to allow inSync & DCP Administrators to modify mappings and related configurations, DCP Administrators must upgrade all existing AD/LDAP connectors.

ENHANCEMENT

Enhanced Microsoft Groups Functionality: Support for Group Mailboxes

Our enhanced Microsoft Groups backup and restore capabilities now enable you to perform both - full and granular recovery of Group Mailbox data.

This comprehensive solution safeguards your critical Microsoft Group data. You can now easily restore selective or all records of lost or deleted Group Mailbox emails, conversations, and attachments, minimizing disruptions and ensuring uninterrupted business operations.

Customer Action

Group Mailbox backup will be enabled for all customers who have Groups configured for backup within the next 90 days. If you wish to enable Group Mailbox backup sooner, please contact Support.

ENHANCEMENT

SharePoint Online - Optimized storage consumption during site restore operations

This enhancement significantly reduces the increase in storage consumption due to versioning during the restore process.

Customer Action

This enhancement is automatically applied to all SharePoint site restore operations, except for in-place restores involving an existing Document Library. For more information, see Restore SharePoint Online data.

Monitor Exchange Online Activities with Enhanced Error Logs

You now get an enhanced error logging system to monitor Exchange Online backup activities. This enhancement consolidates previously scattered error logs, streamlining the process of identifying and resolving issues for specific users and operations.

Key improvements:

  • Enhanced error classification: New error codes are implemented to deliver more accurate information and targeted resolutions.

  • Unified error reporting: Logs now aggregate all errors encountered during the device activity, summarized at the end of reports.

  • Streamlined troubleshooting: Consolidated logs, refined error codes, and timestamped error occurrences significantly expedite issue diagnosis and resolution.

ENHANCEMENT

Extended Auto-Deletion Timeframe for Preserved Users

The Auto Delete preserved user Setting now allows you to retain preserved user accounts for up to 20 years (7305 days) before they are automatically deleted. Previously, the maximum retention period was 3 years (1095 days).

This update provides greater flexibility for managing preserved user data, while still ensuring automated deletion after the specified timeframe elapses.

FIXED ISSUE

Description

INS-156945

SharePoint: Resolved an issue affecting SharePoint backup and restore for non-English language sites, where default List and Document Library titles were backed up in English. Following this fix, backups now preserve the original language of the site, ensuring accurate restoration of default lists and Document Libraries.


📝NOTE:

When using restore points created before this fix, default Document Libraries will be restored in the original language, but default Lists will still be restored in English.

NEW FEATURE

Introducing Smart Backup – the intelligent way to backup your SharePoint Online data

Smart Backup utilizes an advanced site change detection algorithm to selectively back up SharePoint Online sites. This ensures that only sites with changes are backed up, while unmodified sites are skipped.

To ensure your data stays up to date, Smart Backup requires you to set a mandatory backup interval, to reconcile data across all sites. You can choose a frequency that works best for your needs, ranging from 2 days to quarterly (90 days). The default setting is set to a weekly backup (7 days).

Key Benefits

  • Mitigate API throttling issues.

  • Improve service level agreement (SLA) compliance for SharePoint sites undergoing content changes.

Customer Action

  • Default Enablement: The Smart Backup feature is enabled by default for all customers, therefore no action is required.

  • Opt-Out Option: If you prefer not to have this feature enabled, or if you have any questions, please contact our Support team.

  • Update Mandatory Backup Interval (optional): If necessary, adjust the backup interval to a duration between 2 and 90 days.

User Provisioning Report Enhancement

Added a new "Mapping" column to the Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace User Provisioning report. This column displays the highest priority mapping used for importing each user.

Microsoft 365: Extended Auto-Deletion Timeframe for Preserved Users

Microsoft 365: Exchange Online Backup Improvements after Domain Changes

We've enhanced our Exchange Online backup solution to eliminate failures caused by user domain, username, or UPN changes.

With this release, user attributes such as email addresses, domains, and User Principal Names (UPNs) are now automatically updated following Identity Provider (IDP) synchronizations. Authentication leverages the updated user attributes, maintaining a valid sync token at all times to ensure seamless access.

The best part? No more raising support tickets for domain, username or UPN updates! Our backup process adapts seamlessly, saving you time and effort. Just sit back and enjoy uninterrupted protection for your critical Exchange data.

Protect Microsoft Teams Shared Channel

Overview

Druva now supports backup and restore capabilities for Microsoft Teams Shared Channels. Shared Channels allow flexible cross-organisation collaboration by enabling controlled sharing of a Teams channel across Azure Active Directory tenants. With this release, you gain enhanced control over your Microsoft Teams Shared Channel data.

What's New

  • Shared Channels will now be backed up and restored as Shared Channels instead of standard channels.

  • Both full and granular restores of Shared Channel data are supported.

Benefits

  • Enhanced Data Recovery: Recover lost or deleted Shared Channel data comprehensively, ensuring business continuity.

  • Granular Control: Choose to restore specific Shared Channel elements or the entire Shared Channel, saving time and effort.

Customer Action

No action is required.

Shared Channels that have already been discovered and backed up will be automatically updated to the correct configuration (linked to the appropriate team, renamed as Shared Channel, etc.) during the next Auto-Discovery, Manual Discovery, Scheduled Backup, or Manual Backup operation, whichever is performed first.

Microsoft 365: Introducing Restore APIs

Introducing our new restore APIs, offering seamless functionality to list SharePoint sites, Exchange Online users, OneDrive accounts, and restore points. Effortlessly initiate restores for SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Exchange Online, ensuring a smooth and efficient data recovery process.

The following is a list of APIs, along with a brief description:

  • List All SharePoint Site Collections: Retrieve the list of SharePoint site collections.

  • List All SharePoint Site Restore Points: Retrieve the list of restore points for protected SharePoint sites.

  • Restore a SharePoint Site: Performs a restore of a SharePoint site to a new or existing site.

  • List users based on query filters: Retrieve a filtered list of users based on query filters.

  • List All Protected Cloud Apps: Retrieve the list of all protected SaaS Apps.

  • List All OneDrive/Exchange Online Restore points: Retrieve the list of OneDrive/Exchange Online restore points.

  • Restore a OneDrive Account or Exchange Online Mailbox: Performs a restore for a OneDrive account or an Exchange Online mailbox to a new or existing account.

Sensitive Data Governance: New parameters for list APIs for file violations

We have now enhanced the file violations list APIs to provide additional details for better insights and management of non-compliant files.

Here is the list of newly added parameters:

  • UserName

  • Datasource

  • Violation Reported On

Enhanced reports for Archived Non-Compliant and Defensible Delete For Files

We have now migrated Archived Non-Compliant and Defensible Delete For Files reports to our centralized reporting platform.

Now, as per your requirements, you can quickly get report data.

With this, you can:

  • Keep a close eye on critical activities. This visibility allows you to address any issues that may arise proactively.

  • Identify the users, data sources, and files with archived file violations.

  • Use Federated Search or Sensitive Data Governance (Compliance) File violations to get information about deleted files.

  • Run narrowed-down diagnostics using filters to provide evidence during audits.

NEW FEATURE

Enterprise Key Management for Microsoft 365

With Enterprise Key Management, you can use keys generated from your AWS Key Management Service (KMS) account to encrypt and decrypt the data backed up by Druva inSync. This new feature adds an extra layer of encryption beyond Druva's default backup encryption, giving you more control over your data security.

Key benefits:

  • Use your AWS KMS-generated keys to protect Druva inSync backups

  • You have ownership of the encryption and decryption key, enabling your full control to revoke it anytime.

  • Druva will not store the key and the key will be requested when needed.

Improved Backup Reliability with Auxiliary Apps

We're excited to introduce support for the deployment of Auxiliary Apps, a powerful new feature designed to protect backup SLAs from M365 API throttling by automatically and proactively installing Auxiliary Apps.

Benefits of Auxiliary Apps:

  1. Reduced Throttling: By mitigating throttling issues, Auxiliary Apps ensure your backups run consistently and successfully, minimizing disruptions.

  2. Enhanced Backup Reliability: Consistent backups minimize the risk of data loss due to failed backup attempts caused by throttling.

Auxiliary Apps are supported for the following Microsoft 365 apps - SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Public Folders.

Customer action required:

Enable the Auxiliary apps setting in the Druva Cloud Microsoft 365 console. For more information, see the documentation.

Enhanced Restore Options for Planner

With this release, you have even more control over your Microsoft Planner data! You can now perform both full and granular restores of Planner data as part of a Group restore process.

What's New?

  • Full Planner Restore: In case of accidental deletion or data loss, you can now completely restore your entire Planner plan, including tasks, buckets, comments, and attachments, as part of a group restore.

  • Granular Planner Restore: For more fine-grained control, you can choose to selectively restore specific elements of your Planner plan during a group restore. This allows you to recover only the data you need, providing greater flexibility and efficiency.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Data Recovery: This expanded restore functionality offers a comprehensive solution for recovering lost or deleted Planner data, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.

  • Granular Control: The ability to choose specific Planner elements for restoration empowers you to target exactly what's needed, saving time and effort.

  • The previous documentation portal, docs.druva.com, has been replaced with help.druva.com.

NEW FEATURE

Planner backup is now Generally Available (GA)

In addition to the existing Microsoft 365 apps, we have extended support for Planner, a task-tracking app used for collaboration in Microsoft 365. If the Planner data is accidentally deleted or lost due to ransomware attacks, it is permanently deleted. Moreover, if a group is deleted, the associated Plans will also be deleted. To avoid this data loss, we are offering a comprehensive solution to protect Microsoft 365 data, ensuring that all data is recoverable. You can now securely backup, restore, and manage Planner data, allowing teams to focus on their work without worrying about data loss.


❗ Important

  • Planner Backup rollout will be enabled for all customers in batches.

  • If you wish to enable Planner backup sooner, raise a case with Support.


Customer action required:

  • You must Reconfigure the Microsoft 365 App to allow the required permissions.

  • If you already have Groups configured for backup, Planner backup will be automatically enabled for you.

Data Governance

Federated Search | RBAC enhancement for legal administrators

We have now enhanced the users’ search capabilities for legal administrators. Legal administrators can now search and view data of users other than legal hold users using the Federated Search > File Search and Email Search options.


❗ Important

To get a view of these newly added options for users' search, the custom role must have a combination of Legal Hold Management rights > View Legal Hold and Data Governance > Access Federated Search plus any one or all of the following rights - User Management, Deployment Management, Profile Management, Backup and restore management, Data Governance, Alerts and Reports Management, CloudCache Management.


Customer action required:

  1. Cloud administrators must create a custom role that has access to the following additional rights along with Legal Hold Management > View Legal Hold and Data Governance > Access Federated Search and assign it to a legal administrator.

  2. Profile(s) must be assigned to the legal admin to allow them to search all users mapped to that profile.
