Manage an Archival Set

Overview

The Archival Set page displays a dashboard for an archival set, which gives an overview and information about the daily archival. It also provides summary details related to archival.

Actions for the archival set

For any action related to the archival set, see the options on the top-right of the page.

See the following table for an explanation of all the available actions.

Option

Description

Archive Now

You can use this option to run the archival immediately using the data definitions defined in the current archival set.

To learn more about creating an archival set, see Configure archiver.

Edit

You can edit most of the archival settings.

You will not be able to modify the following fields:

  • Project

  • Region

  • Source Organization

  • Schedule

  • Retention Period

If you need the retention period to decrease, contact Support.

Delete

You can delete an archival set. This will stop any scheduled run for this archival set.


πŸ“ Note

A deleted archival set will be in the soft-deleted state in the backend for some time.


Archival set summary

You can view essential information about the archival set in this section. The fields, along with the description, are as follows:

Field

Description

Organization ID

The source organization ID.

Region

The storage region

# Objects

The number of objects configured in this archival set.

Total Archived Data

Size of the files and data archived by executing this archival set so far.

Last Modified By

The user who last modified the archival set settings

Archival Start Date

The date and time of the first archival using this archival set. The scheduler will use this date and time to determine the next scheduled run time.

Archival Frequency

You can see how frequently the application executes this archival set.

Data Retention Period

The archived data is retained in Druva Cloud for the retention period specified here.

Dashboards

Data Distribution by Objects

This chart displays the distribution of objects archived by this archival data set. Hover over the shaded area to see more information related to that area.

Archival Task

This chart shows the number of records processed in the five most recent archival tasks. Hover over any data point to see the record count for every object archived.

Archival Content

You can view, download, or restore archived records in this section.

You can also search the records based on index fields and view records across all snapshots.

  1. On the Salesforce App Console, click Data Archival.

  2. Select an Archival Set.

  3. Scroll down to Archival Content to see the archived records.

  4. You can use the following filters to find the records:

    1. Search by Object Name: Use this option to search for an object by name

    2. Where Clause: Use this option to filter using a where clause of SOQL

πŸ“ Note

  1. You can use the Where clause filter for the indexed fields.

  2. You can see a maximum of 500 records at a time. If you wish to view more records, download the CSV by clicking Download.


Tasks

You can see the status of the task in the following three places:

View_and_Manage_Archival_Set_tasks
  • Tasks tab: shows the tasks for the archival set

  • Floating Tasks window: shows the quick summary of the recent tasks for the Salesforce application

  • Tasks page: shows the details of all the tasks of the Salesforce application

Use the Tasks page to troubleshoot any failed jobs and identify pending or completed jobs. To learn more about the Tasks page, see Tasks.

Delete an Archival Set

You can delete an Archival set you no longer require. Deleting an Archival set also deletes the associated Data Templates and Archival Content. You can download the Data Templates and Archival Content that will be deleted along with the Archival set in a CSV file and evaluate it further before deleting it.

Before you begin

Ensure no tasks associated with Archival definition are running. You can view the tasks in various stages by visiting Tasks. For more information, see Managing Tasks.

Procedure

  1. On the Salesforce App console, click Data Archiver. All the Archiver sets that are configured are listed under the Archival Sets section.

  2. Click on the Archival set that you want to delete to view its details.

  3. To delete it, click the options on the top-right and select Delete. A confirmation window appears.

  4. You can download the Data Templates and Archival Content that will be deleted along with the Archival set in a CSV file and evaluate it further before deleting it.

  5. If you wish to proceed further, provide a valid Reason for deletion.

  6. Click Delete.

An email is triggered to the Salesforce App administrator with the deleted archival definition details and the reason for deletion.


❗ Important

A deleted backup definition will be in the soft-deleted state in the backend for some time.
