Overview
The Consumption Insights section of the Analytics page gives you an insight into your deployment of various resources with Druva especially with respect to credits and storage consumption. Through various forms of graphs and widgets, you can get an in-depth analysis of the total credits and storage, source + changes data, current source data, the projected timeline for the exhaustion of the credit balance, dedupe savings, and the change rates. It also enables you to capture the events and view the audit trails for the same.
It also displays the number of credits estimated to expire at the end of the term for slow deployments and the projected date of the credit exhaustion for fast deployments. The number is estimated based on your current credit consumption pattern in the last 90 days. Based on the predictions, Druva periodically sends alerts when your organization is predicted to fall short of credits before the end of the term or has excess credits that may go unutilized at the end of the term.

To view the Consumption Insights on the Analytics page
Log in to the Management Console.
Click Analytics. Note that if an organization is enabled, then select All Organizations and then click Analytics. For more information, see Enable and disable organizations.
The Analytics page appears.
βOn the left navigation pane of the Analytics page, select Consumption Insights.

βFor service providers onboarded on the MSP platform, the Credit Balance and Credit Terms fields are not displayed.
Consumption Insights
Last Updated
The timestamp when the Consumption Insights page was last updated. This field is updated every 24 - 48 hours. Consumption Insights always processes data that is one day older. For example, a Consumption Insights cron triggered on 13 July 2021 will analyze the data till 12 July 2021 and display that information on the Consumption Insights page.

Credits and Storage
This Credits and Storage section provides the administrator with the values associated with the following fields:
Summary
Credit Balance: The current balance of credits available for consumption. The underlying text (for example, Will last till 30 Nov, 2018) is the projection of a date till when the credit balance will last based on the trend of usage in the last 30 days. The projected date is based on the current storage consumption trend. This is subject to change with the change in consumption trends in the future.
Total Source + Changes: The amount of data modified, added, or deleted at the source during incremental backups. It provides a statistical insight for the data at the source with respect to the first full and subsequent incremental backups.
Total Current Source Data: Size of data on the source servers as of the last backup. The current time is the time as seen in the Last Updated field.
Total Storage Consumed: Actual Druva storage post deduplication.
Dedupe Savings: The ratio of space used on traditional backup storage to Cloud Storage.
The Consumption Insights section also provides various filters, such as Duration, Resource Types, and Organizations, to view the trends of consumption via the following graphs.

Total Credits & Storage
This graph illustrates the storage consumed and the trend of credit usage in the selected duration. Based on credit usage, the graph displays one of the following details:
Credits Projected to Expire: The number of excess credits estimated to lapse at the end of the term.
Will last till <date>: The date before the end of the term on which the purchased credits are projected to get consumed.
More credits required for current term: The number of additional credits that must be purchased to continue backups until the end of the term.
Credits Sufficient for term: Signifies that the purchased credits are sufficient to last until the end of the term.
The graph has the timeline on the x-axis and the Credit Balance and Storage Consumed on the y-axis. The green color depicts the credits balance and the gray region depicts the storage consumed. You can hover the mouse pointer over a point in the graph to view the associated credits balance and storage consumed as shown in the following screenshot:
Source + Changes Data
This graph illustrates the total source + changes data size for the selected duration and segregated based on the selected resource types and organizations. It has the timeline on the x-axis and the source + changes data size on the y-axis. Each resource type has a different color associated with it.
You can hover the mouse pointer over a point in the graph to view data size for each resource type on a certain date as shown in the following screenshot.
Current Source Data
This graph illustrates the trend of the current source data size for the selected duration, resource types, and organizations. You can also view the newly added backup sets, the total number of backup sets, and the total current source data. The total number of backup sets are segregated into the different resource types. This graph has the timeline on the x-axis and the number of backup sets and the current source data size on the y-axis.
The green marker on the x-axis of the graph indicates that one or more events have occurred at that point in the timeline. You can hover the mouse pointer over the marker to view the number of events on that day.
Upon hovering the mouse pointer over a bar, you can view the date and the number of backup sets of each selected resource type.
Backup Sets
All Backup Sets
The Backup Sets tab of Consumption Insights section, provides a list of all the backup sets for the selected resource types and organizations. The number of backup sets listed here matches the number of backup sets in the Current Source Data graph. You can click the icon on the top right to switch from tabular view to tree view and vice versa. The two views are described as follows:
Tabular view: The tabular view has the following columns:
Backup set: The name of the resource; for example, server 1.
Source + Changes: A visual indication of the contribution of the backup set to the source + changes data size. By default, this column is sorted in descending order of the source + changes data size.
Average Change Rate: The average value of change rates for the entire lifetime of the backup set. Change rate, change rate percentage, and average change rate percentage are explained as follows:
Change rate is the change in the storage consumed per day for each backup set. Change rate in Druva is calculated based on the incremental source data contributed by a backup set on a daily basis, which could span multiple backups. This data is accounted for in the source + changes statistics for each backup set. Change rate is formulated on a daily basis based on the difference between the source + changes of two consecutive days.
Change rate percentage is calculated on the basis of the change rate calculated between two consecutive days with respect to the current source of the previous day. This indicates the amount of data changed on the source on a per day basis. Change rate percentage is the value of {change rate for a day/source data} * 100.
Average change rate percentage is the average of change rate percentages for the entire lifetime of the backup set.
Number of recovery points: The number of recovery points in the backup of a backup set.
Tree map view: This view shows the source + changes and the average change rate distribution of all the backup sets. The areas are color-coded based on the selected resource type types and the gradient in the color represents the relative value of the average change rate, the darkest being the highest. The sizes of the rectangles are calculated by the size of the source + changes data. Each rectangle represents a backup set.
