Updated over 8 months ago

Overview

As an inSync Cloud administrator or legal administrator, you can manually unresolve the resolved non-compliant file or email violation. You can perform any of the following actions:

  • Unresolve a resolved file or email

When you unresolve a file or email, then inSync unresolves the latest version as well as all the previous versions of the file or email. Additionally, inSync displays the violation in the Active tab on the Overview page.

  • Unquarantine a quarantined file or email

When you unquarantine a file or email, then inSync resolves the latest version as well as all the previous versions of the file or email. Additionally, inSync displays the violation in the Resolved tab on the Overview page.

Unresolve the non-compliant files or emails

  • Administrator can unresolve only the latest version of a file or email. However, all the previous versions of the file or email are unresolved by default.

  • Once unresolved, inSync moves the file or email from the Resolved tab to the Active tab on the Sensitive Data Governance Dashboard.

  • Administrator will not be able to restore the non-compliant file or email to the user’s device. However, administrator can download the non-compliant file to a local computer.

  • If the violation was marked as False Positive, unresolving the violation does not remove the file from the File Hash Whitelist. You must manually go to the File Hash Whitelist tab and remove the file from the list if you want inSync to scan that file hash.

inSync end user cannot download or restore the non-compliant file or email through inSync Web or through inSync Client.

Unquarantine the non-compliant files or emails

  • Administrator can unquarantine only the latest version of a file or email. However, all the previous versions of the file or email are unquarantined.

  • Once unquarantined, inSync moves the file or email from the Quarantined tab to the Resolved tab on the Sensitive Data Governance Dashboard.

  • Administrator will be able to restore the non-compliant file or email to the user’s device. Administrator can also download the non-compliant file to a local computer.

inSync end user can download or restore the non-compliant file or email through inSync Web or through inSync Client.
