Amazon EC2

New Feature

User Interface Enhancements to your EC2 and EBS Resources

We are enhancing your Amazon EC2 and EBS Management Console to better align with the foundational structure of Druva Cloud Platform. This integration brings a consistent user experience across Druva’s products and services, and security parity for Amazon EC2 and EBS workloads.

What’s Changing:

  • Backup Sets for Amazon EC2 and EBS Resources: A new Backup Sets tab to quickly configure your EC2 and EBS resources for backup, or initiate data recovery. All corresponding recovery points are available by backup set, or can be located from the Recovery Points tab.

  • Integrated Policy Management: Configure EC2, EBS, RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift resources with a unified backup policy workflow. The existing policy management remains unchanged for these resources.
Amazon S3 and EFS file systems will maintain independent backup policies

  • Restore Management: The Restore tab is no longer available within the EC2 and EBS user interface, and can be managed from the Restore Jobs page. You can also access File Level Recovery download links from the respective recovery job on the Restore Jobs page.

  • Jobs Monitoring: Streamlined views for Airgap Backup and Restore Jobs, and a distinct view for orchestrated snapshots.

For more information, see Amazon EC2 and EBS Data Protection.

Amazon EFS

New Feature

Announcing EFS Data Protection

We are excited to announce the launch of our cloud-native data protection solution specifically designed for Amazon Elastic File Systems (EFS). Delivered via a fully managed SaaS platform, this bridges a critical gap in enterprise cloud infrastructure, securing high-velocity file data against sophisticated cyber threats.

Protect your critical EFS data with our secure, air-gapped backup and recovery framework. By isolating backups entirely outside your primary AWS environment, we eliminate the risk of ransomware, accidental deletion, and regional outages, ensuring absolute data resilience and seamless business continuity.

Benefits

  • Zero-footprint cost efficiency: Druva’s Quantum Bridge architecture eliminates hidden infrastructure costs with on-demand, ephemeral instances that spin up and terminate automatically, drastically cutting both AWS fees and operational overhead.

  • True air-gapped data protection: Minimize the threat of data loss by isolating your Amazon EFS data to an air-gapped, secure cloud, ensuring your business remains resilient against ransomware and internal threats.

  • Recovery at scale: Perform file-level searches and restores for specific folders or individual files, or recover the entire file system when needed.

  • Advanced cyber resilience controls: Strengthen your enterprise security posture by embedding zero-trust immutability, proactive threat detection, and granular rollback as part of the recovery workflow to enable data integrity and minimize downtime.

Customer action required: To enable this feature, you will need to update your AWS Access Role by deploying the latest CloudFormation template.

Amazon RDS

New Feature

Backup Amazon RDS Airgap Data Across AWS Regions

We are excited to announce enhancements to Druva’s Airgap Backup capabilities for Amazon RDS, allowing you to backup RDS data across AWS regions. Enable cross-account and cross-region backup to enhance resiliency and ensure data recovery. Experience greater flexibility in selecting your encryption keys, with better access control to manage keys across multiple AWS accounts.

Customer action required: A backup policy configured for RDS Airgap Backup is executed only when a corresponding Storage Rule is available. Cross-region backup automation via storage rules applies exclusively to newly created RDS instances, and existing protected instances will not inherit these rules automatically. For more information, see Configure Storage Rules.

Amazon EC2

New Feature

Recovery Intelligence for EC2 Airgap Backups

Integrate advanced threat hunting capabilities into your recovery workflow, to identify non-impacted snapshots and eliminate the risk of re-infecting your environment.

Sanitize your recovery data before you even click Restore. With Recovery Intelligence, the Cyber Recovery workflow is integrated into your EC2 and EBS restore interface, offering real-time, recovery-focused insights that empower you to recover with confidence.

  • Pre-Recovery Threat Hunt: Every recovery now includes an option to perform a threat hunt, helping you pinpoint clean snapshots backups for a successful restore.

  • Recovery Intelligence: Gather insights into the health of your snapshots with automated intelligence that populates critical data about each restore point.

  • Integrated Restore Scans: Before committing to a restore, perform a Cloud-based IOC (Indicator of Compromise) scan and AV (Antivirus) scan on your selected restore point to verify it is free of malware.

Customer action required:

  • To view and access the Recovery Intelligence feature, you must have either a Security Posture & Observability, Accelerated Ransomware Recovery, or a premium license.

  • To view and access the Recovery Intelligence details for the Threat Hunting feature, the Premium license is mandatory.
