Overview
This article explains how to create a new user in the inSync Management Console without sending an activation email to the end user. inSync identifies each unique user by their email ID.
There are three methods to create a new user without triggering an activation email.
1. Activate user using an auth key
You can create a new user manually by following the below steps:
Login to the inSync Management Console.
On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Users. The Users page appears.
Click Add User. The Add New User window appears.
Add all the necessary information.
Select the "Do not send an account activation email to the user" option to prevent the activation email from being sent to the user.
6. Click Add to add the user to Druva inSync.
7. Once the user is added, you can activate the inSync client either by using an Authkey or, if SSO is enabled for users, they can log in to the inSync client via Single Sign on (SSO).
2. Import users using a CSV file
inSync administrators can add new users by importing a CSV file with user details.
On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Users.
Select Import > Import Users from CSV. The Import Users window will appear.
Download the sample CSV file, add user details as explained in the Guidelines section, and save it.
Click Browse and select the CSV file containing the user information. inSync will process the file and display all the users in a table.
5. Select the users you want to import and click Next.
6. In the Attach Profile and Storage window, provide the following details:
a. Profile: Choose the profile to assign to the selected users.
b. Storage: Select the storage region where inSync will back up the user data.
c. Endpoint quota: Specify or select the storage quota to assign to the user.
7. Click Import.
8. Once the user import is complete, the options to Send Activation Email and Save Keys will appear.
a. Skip this step to prevent the activation email from being sent to the users.
b. (Optional) Download the activation keys for all imported users.
9. Click Done.
