User creation fails with error - A user with the same email id already exists

Applies to: inSync Cloud, inSync GovCloud.

Problem description

When an inSync Admin attempts to manually add a user in the inSync Admin Console by navigating to Users > Add User, the following error message appears:

Cause

Across the entire inSync Cloud or inSync Govcloud customer base, the email IDs of users and administrators must be unique. Two accounts with the same email ID cannot be added in either inSync Cloud or inSync Govcloud.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the inSync Admin Console, click on Users, and search for the user by their email address.

2. Check if the email ID already exists.

3. If you have multiple inSync instances, please check all of them to verify whether the user has already been added in any of those instances.

4. If you cannot locate the matching email ID anywhere within your inSync instance, please contact Druva inSync Support by creating a new support ticket via Dru Assist for further investigation.
