DRaaS failover to AWS fails with Error: Instance type is invalid for conversion

Problem description

Virtual Machine hosted on VMware failed to perform DRaaS failover to AWS with error DR4103: Instance type XXXXX is invalid for conversion of <OS version> with kernel version xxxxxxx and bios boot mode.

Cause

The issue occurs regardless of the Instance Type selected in the Failover Settings:

Look for below snippets in Phoenix.log file:

Resolution

  • Disaster Recovery does not support Failover on the source VMware VM OS.
