Problem description
Appaware backup fails with error "Unable to find IP Address of VM Object" [VMWARE25]
Cause
The proxy is unable to communicate with the VM. The proxy is on a different network [vlan] than on which the VM resides

Resolution
The requirement for an appaware backup to work is that the proxy and VM should be on the same network [vlan]. Without that backup proxy, you won't be able to communicate with the VM.
If there is only one NIC on the proxy, it should be on the same network as the VM to be backed up. Also, this NIC should be able to access the internet. If that is not feasible, need to add second nic to the proxy on same network as of the VM
