End of Life for Legacy Reports and Transition to Centralized Reporting

Updated today

Overview

Dell PowerProtect Backup Services has transitioned reporting to a centralized experience at the Cloud Platform level to provide a unified view across workloads.

As part of this transition, Legacy Reports in individual workload consoles have been discontinued as of March 14, 2026 for the following workloads:

  • Endpoints

  • Microsoft 365

  • Google Workspace

  • Salesforce

  • Data Governance

❗️Important
These changes are not applicable to inSync GovCloud/FedRAMP customers.

What this means for you

  • Legacy reports access from workload consoles are no longer available.

  • Reporting is now available only through Centralized Reporting (Navigate to Cloud Platform Console >Global Navigation menu > Reports).

  • Existing subscriptions for legacy reports are no longer active. You must re-subscribe to these reports within the Centralized Reporting.

  • Reports have been updated as part of this transition; some have been renamed, replaced, split, or are no longer available. See Changes from Legacy Reports to Centralized Reports section.

Customer Action

To continue accessing reports and receive scheduled emails:

  1. Go to Cloud Platform Console > Global Navigation menu > Reports.

  2. Identify the reports relevant to you.

  3. Subscribe to the required reports.

💡 Tip

Along with individual subscription, you can use role based subscription to schedule and send reports to administrators with specific roles in Dell PowerProtect Backup Services.

If no action is taken

  • Scheduled report for emails will not be received

  • Any workflows dependent on these reports may be impacted

Benefits of Centralized Reporting

  • Unified and Role-based Subscriptions: We are moving to a global subscription model. Each report will have one subscription that all admins can manage, which will eliminate duplicate report emails.

  • Build Custom Reports: You will be able to create custom reports from scratch, selecting only the specific filters and data columns you need.

  • More Export Options: Choose between compressed (ZIP) and non-compressed file formats for report exports and subscriptions.

  • Simpler & Smarter: The report design will be streamlined to a single, easy-to-read data table. And to boost accuracy, time zones will now be consistently applied when we gather data and send you reports.

Changes from Legacy Reports to Centralized Reports

What has changed

Reports are now organized by workload rather than being grouped together. Reports that previously combined data from Endpoints, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Salesforce will now show data only for the selected workload:

Change of behavior in Report Subscriptions

The subscription behavior for following reports has changed in Centralized Reporting:

  • Behavior with Legacy Reports: Subscribed emails included data for the last 30 days.

  • Behavior with Centralized Reports: Scheduled report emails now provide only incremental data with a default filter applied based on the configured schedule:
    Daily, Weekly or Monthly

📝 Note

The Filters Last Updated Time or Updated Time are applied by default based on the subscription frequency. See below Reports list for default applied filters.

Example:

For the Deleted Device Report, assume that 5 devices were deleted in the last 24 hours, 12 devices in the last 7 days, and 40 devices in the last 30 days:

  • Legacy Reports: Subscribed email displayed information for 40 deleted devices.

  • Centralized Reporting: The subscribed email provides data based on the selected schedule:
Daily: Provides information for 5 deleted devices
Weekly: Provides information for 12 deleted devices
Monthly: Provides information for 40 deleted devices

Known issues

Following issues have been identified in the Centralized reports and will be addressed soon:

Issue

Description

EE-7321

Custom Reports

The custom report sent via email does not contain the customization applied to the reports.

EE-7321

User Rollout Report

This report provides comprehensive information for all users and not as per the scheduled timeframe.

EE-7715/ EE-7591

Last Backup Status Report:

1. The Report sent as an attachment displays inconsistent timestamp or inaccurate status updates due to filtering logic and formatting issues. Thus restricting Administrators from filtering or sorting the data correctly as per requirements.

2. Last Backup Status report does not provide the full list of all devices in the subscribed report email. It sends only the changes in the last 24 hours.

EE- 7625

SharePoint Online Backup Activity Report:

The Site Name field in the report sent as attachment does not match with the Administrators inSync SharePoint console, resulting in incorrect identification of site-specific backup status.

EE-7620

User Provisioning Report & User Last Backup Status Report:

The App Status column in the report attachment shows the user status as Disabled for both preserved users and deleted users making it difficult to identify the difference between user types.

EE-5522

Inactive Devices Report:

Report via API shows historical data rather than providing data for only Active or preserved users.
