Organizations today rely heavily on scalable object storage for critical applications, making data protection a top priority. To help ensure business continuity and meet compliance requirements, you can use Azure APIs to back up and restore Azure Blob data.
A Binary Large Object (BLOB) is the actual object you store in Azure Blob Storage. It can be any type of unstructured data, such as documents, images, videos, and backups. For more information, see Introduction to Azure Blob Storage.
With native integration for the Azure Blob vendor, you can now use a NAS proxy to protect blob data. Simply deploy the NAS agent on an Ubuntu Azure virtual machine, and it will act as a secure and scalable proxy for backup and restore operations.
Key benefits of using Azure APIs for Blob protection
Here are the key benefits of using Azure APIs to back up and restore Azure blobs using NAS proxy.
Efficient backups and restores: Container and Blob properties, such as Azure tags and metadata, attributes, and so on, are backed up for efficient backup and restore operations.
Data protection: Protects against threats like ransomware, user errors, and compromised credentials.
π Note
βWe support Azure Block Blobs in the Hot Access tier for backup and restore operations.
