How to disable Data lock in Druva

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Data Lock, a feature in the Druva admin portal, ensures the immutability of business-critical data by preventing modifications, deletions, or tampering. While enabling Data Lock is straightforward, removing it requires manual intervention from Druva support.

The administrators will need to get in touch with Support team who will remove the data lock with the help of internal teams

Procedure to Disable Data Lock:

  1. Create a Support Case:

    • Contact the Druva support team to open a new case.

    • Provide the following details:

      • Customer Name

      • Profile Names: List the profiles where Data Lock needs to be disabled.

      • Workloads: Specify the affected workloads (EndPoints, CloudApps, or both).

      • SharePoint Sites: Include site names and URLs.

      • Teams: List team names and URLs.

      • Groups: Provide group names and email addresses for M365 Groups.

      • Public Folders: Specify public folder names and paths.

      • Shared Drives: List shared drive names and account URLs.

      • Requestor Information: Provide the name and email of the administrator requesting Data Lock removal.

      • Approver Information: List the names and emails of at least two additional administrators who will approve the request.

Important Points:

  • Multiple Approvals: Druva support will only process the request after receiving approval from at least two administrators.

Time Limit: If no approval is received within 48 hours, the request will be closed.
