Reinstall Microsoft 365

Reinstallation of the Microsoft 365 app is required in the following scenarios:

  1. Discover a new Cloud App that is added to inSync.

  2. For any permissions-related updates required by the inSync app in Microsoft Azure.

  3. If the password of the global admin account has changed recently.

  4. MFA was set for the account after reinstallation was done.

  5. Any permission-related changes that are made to the global administrator account used to configure a Microsoft 365 app in inSync.

    ​Example: If any changes are made to the conditional access permissions of the global administrator account used to configure any Microsoft 365 app, you must Re-Install Microsoft 365 account in inSync.

📝 Note

  • When you Re-Install Microsoft 365, inSync stops all the ongoing cloud app backups and restores.

  • Last Configured, this information displays if the apps are connected, indicating the most recent date when they were last configured.


Procedure to Re-Install inSync with Microsoft 365

Follow the steps below to re-install the inSync app for Microsoft 365 in your Druva environment:

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator account available.

  • Verify that you have access to the Druva Cloud Admin Console with appropriate privileges.

Step 1: Navigate to Microsoft 365 Configuration

  1. Log in to the Druva Cloud Admin Console.

  2. From the Global Navigation Panel on the left, click Microsoft 365.

Step 2: Access Manage Apps

  1. On the Microsoft 365 Overview page, locate the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Click Manage Apps to view the list of available Druva Microsoft 365 applications.

Step 3: Initiate Re-Installation

  1. Identify the application type you want to reconfigure.

  2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋮) next to the selected app type.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select Re-Install.

Step 4: Confirm Re-Installation

  1. A confirmation dialog box will appear.

  2. Click Re-Install to confirm and proceed with the reinstallation process.

Step 5: Authenticate with Microsoft 365

  1. You will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 login page.

  2. Enter the Global Administrator username and password for your Microsoft 365 tenant.

  3. Click Sign In.

Step 6: Grant Required Permissions

  1. After signing in, you will see a permissions request screen.

  2. Click Accept to grant the inSync app the necessary permissions to access Microsoft 365 data.

    📝NOTE: The permissions displayed represent a combined list for all Microsoft 365 apps integrated with Druva.

Step 7: Completion

  • Once permissions are granted, inSync will reconnect and synchronize with the Microsoft 365 data for all users in your organization.

  • You can verify the status under Microsoft 365 Overview in the Druva console.

📝NOTE: The Microsoft 365 tenant must be the same for all sub-apps you intend to configure. Configuring sub-apps across multiple tenants is not supported.
