Manage backup sets in CloudCache
Updated over 2 weeks ago

Attach a backup set to a CloudCache

To back up server data to CloudCache, attach the relevant backup set. The server data will be stored on CloudCache for the configured retention period and synchronized with Cloud, optimizing space by managing non-referenced and frequently changed data.

πŸ“ Note
Synchronization with Cloud occurs continuously based on the configured schedule. The retention period only defines how long data is stored on CloudCache.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Management Console.

  2. Go to Manage > CloudCache, Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization and then click Manage > CloudCache.

  3. On the Configured tab, select the CloudCache.

  4. In the Attach Backup Sets tab, click Attach More Backup Sets. For more information on backup sets, see its definition under Key concepts and terms.

  5. Set the Local Retention (up to 30 days).

    πŸ“ Note
The CloudCache schedule uploads the data to the cloud but does not delete the snapshot if it's the latest snapshot for a particular backup set.

  6. Select one or more backup sets to map. The first backup after mapping will be a full backup.

    πŸ“ Note
If you change the cache timezone, restart the CloudCache.

  7. Click Save.

Detach a Backup Set from CloudCache

After you detach a backup set, CloudCache syncs the data to Cloud. Subsequent backups go directly to Cloud. Any unreferenced data on CloudCache is deleted after synchronization, freeing up storage.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Management Console.

  2. Go to Manage > CloudCache, Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization and then click Manage > CloudCache.

  3. On the Configured tab, select the CloudCache.

  4. In the Attached Backup Sets tab, select the backup set and click Detach.

  5. Confirm by clicking Yes.
