Upgrade agent for Hyper-V

You can upgrade the Druva File server agents to the latest versions by downloading the upgraded version from the downloads page. This topic describes how you can upgrade Enterprise Workloads agent to the most-recent version on a Windows server. You can also upgrade multiple agents and proxies for different workloads at the same time from the Management Console.

Ensure the following:

  • You are logged on to the server that has an existing installation of Enterprise Workloads agent as an administrator.

  • Your server matches the requirements listed in Prerequisites for Enterprise Workloads agent.

  • You have downloaded the latest Enterprise Workloads agent installer on your server. The installer is available on the Druva downloads page. You can also download the installer from the Management Console at the time of registering servers.

  • To upgrade a Enterprise Workloads agent manually, it is recommended to install a new version of the Enterprise Workloads agent without uninstalling the existing old agent. This avoids the need of re-registration of the agent with Druva because the uninstallation process removes all the logs and the configuration-related information from the host.

To upgrade Enterprise Workloads agent

  1. Double-click the Druva installer.

  2. Click Next.

  3. In the Install location box, type or select the full path to the installation home directory.

  4. Click Install.

  5. After the installation completes, click Finish.


πŸ“ Note
​A system reboot is not required after manual or auto upgrade. After an upgrade, Enterprise Workloads agent is activated automatically. You do not require a separate Enterprise Workloads agent activation.


Upgrade the Enterprise Workloads agent using the Management Console

  1. Log in to Management Console.

  2. Select the workload from the Protect menu. Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization and then select the workload.

  3. In the left navigation pane, click Hosts.

  4. Under the Client Version column, you can view the current status for each agent. Refer below table.

  5. Select one or more agents that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.

  6. On the confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

πŸ“ Note
​Jobs that are in progress at the time of upgrade will restart after the upgrade is complete. Ongoing Backup now jobs will fail after triggering the upgrade.

The current version can be upgraded to the latest available version.
