Shortcut access to Phoenix agent fails

Problem description

Access to the Phoenix agent using the shortcut access fails with the below error:

The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed.

Cause

This occurs when the logged in user is not added to the Administrator of Backup operator administrative groups and hence does not have enough permissions on the Druva folder.

Resolution

  1. Get the target path of the shortcut (right-click on shortcut > Properties > Shortcut > Target ).

    If not changed, the default path is C:\program files\Druva\Phoenix Agent\PhoenixActivate.exe

  2. When you access the above path, you will be prompted to click Continue.

  3. Click Continue and you will be able to access the shortcut.


๐Ÿ’ก Tip

For a permanent fix, add the user to /Admin group under C:\Program Files\Druva.
