Problem description
VMware FLR browse fails to mount volumes and you get the following error message:
Failed to determine file system type.
Cause
The VM has a disk attached to it, but it is not initialized and formatted. This can be verified from disk management by running the following command:
Start > run > diskmgmt.msc
Resolution
Perform the following steps:
Initialize the disk and format it. For more information, see Initialize new disks.
If the disk is not required, remove the disk from the VM. For more information, see Remove a Hard Disk.
Backup the VM again.
