FAQs for Azure Storage Accounts with Private Access

Updated today

What is the Quantum Bridge?

The Quantum Bridge is a temporary VM spawned by Druva within your Azure subscription . It facilitates the secure transfer of data from restricted storage accounts to Druva storage.

When is the Quantum Bridge VM created and destroyed?

Druva spawns the VM at the start of a backup or restore job. A log line confirming "spawning temporary VM in subscription" appears in the job progress. Once the job is finished, Druva automatically destroys the VM and logs a confirmation of the shutdown to ensure no unnecessary costs are incurred.

Does Druva support storage accounts with Public Access secured by Perimeter (NSP)?

Druva supports NSP in Transition mode. However, Enforced mode is currently not supported. Learn more about Network Security Perimeter.

What happens if my network settings change in Azure?

This is known as a drift scenario. The new configuration is no longer recognized as valid, new backup set creation is disabled, backups are temporarily disabled, and you are prompted to Reconfigure the settings.
