❗ Important

Adding a storage account is required only if the discovery of the Azure storage account fails.

This article describes how to auto-discover storage accounts and manually add them in the Management Console.

For the Azure Blob-supported NAS device, you must add a NAS share which is the storage account.

πŸ“ Note

All the storage accounts (shares) are aligned with the subscription that was added as the device.

Auto-discover storage accounts

An automatic discovery gets triggered for storage accounts for the device added as Azure Blob. Storage accounts auto-discovery is particularly useful when an Azure subscription has a large number of storage accounts. You can still add a storage account manually, if required.

Procedure

From All Devices page

  1. Log in to the Management Console.

  2. Select the workload from the Protect menu. Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization that has your NAS device and then select the workload.

  3. In the left pane, click All Devices.

  4. In the right pane, select the device whose storage account you want to discover, click on more options, and click Discover Shares. You can also click the Refresh icon to initiate a storage account auto-discovery.
